Saturday Play time!!

Hello everyone...hope you are all having a great weekend!!! We went to my DGS's baseball game the other night and I gotta tell ya, that was one exciting game!!! This was Cody's first game ever and he did a real good job!! They lost in the bottom of the last inning by one run....it was one of those nail biting games!!! Cody had his own cheering squad...there were 11 adults and 5 kids from our family that showed up....Cody was grinning from ear to ear!!! Anyway...enough of this old grandma's ramblings!! I was going to upload some pictures but they are on a CD and I have to figure out how to transfer them to my camers program so I can reduce the size and save, first. If anyone knows how to do that, come on over!!!

Now, down to business...LOl!!! I have been busy crafting today and I thought I would share....the first card uses a Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage Booklets picture. It was framed with a chipboard frame that was stamped with a canvas background stamp and sponged with Mellow Moss. The papers are from K&Co. Life's Journey dp. I sewed 2 layers of the paper on and distressed both layers so the bottom layer peeks through. The lace, grungeboard, buttons, ribbon, flowers, and the Glimmer Chip bird finishes it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Canvas Background
Paper: Prism Intense Azalea and Always Artichoke, K&Co dp
Ink: So Saffron, Mellow Moss
Accessories: Prima, Pearls, Buttons, Chipboard Frame, Ribbon, Grungeboard, Glimmer Chip Bird, Sewing Machine, Lace, Crafty Secrets picture

Rubbernecker Stamps has released several African images this month....this image is called Joelle. I made this card for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast today...Anne chose the coolest site called Jazz it Up. I found inspiration from the green, black, and white striped glass coaster....it reminded me of the Basic Grey Origins Paper. So I dug it out and colored my new African Woman with copics. I added the raffia, button, and ribbon in the background.

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker African American Figure
Paper: Garden Green, Black, white, Basic Grey's Origins dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Raffia, Button, Long Rectangle Nesties, Twill Ribbon, Martha Stewart Scallop Punch Border

I just love to paper piece and the Fashion Lady images from Rubbernecker are just perfect for me to play with!! Maryanne was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and everything but the dress and hat was colored with copics. The dress and hat were paper pieced with K&Co Life's Journey dp...the front and back of one sheet. I sewed around the edges and the bottom corner was flipped up and zig zagged at an angle for a little interest. The wood flourish, lace, pearls, and primas finish it off.

Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker Fashion
Lady called Maryanne
Paper: Vanilla, Prism Island Mist Medium, Prism Suede Brown Dark, K&Co dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa,
Accessories: Lace, Wood Flourish, Pearls, Flowers, Sewing Machine, Nestabilities, Copics

Thanks for coming by today....hope you have a great weekend!!!!

Sounds like a fun time at the baseball game, and that's really what counts (those happy memories!).

Gorgeous cards! Yes, you always amaze me with the varity Joan! Your vintage card is so pretty from that darling image to all of the pretty elements. Wow, love the colors you put together for your Joelle card (that looks like such fun to color!) and the DP is a lovely match! Love the paper piecing on your fashion lady image, again a fabulous match to the background DP! Thanks so much for all of the inspiration! :)

More gorgeous creations Joan. Just love the African card you made, the colours are perfect.... this one has to be my favourite so far!
Glad that the Baseball game went well. Baseball isn't as big over here in the UK, but when I was growing up my cousins played in the 'Crawley Giants' team and I remember going to support them every weekend. Happy times!
