Love Tree Valentines

Hello everyone!!  What a crazy week end....we have Timewarner Cable and it was doing stupid stuff all last week!! The repair man finally came today and now I have Internet...WOOT!! After he left, the microwave gave a belch and then died....since bad things happen in threes, I'm waiting for number 3 to attack...LOL!!! I did get most of my Christmas stuff put away....we waited to take down everything till after my sister and her family left. I can only handle one project at a time...must be my advanced age...LOL!!! Anyway....

I have been making Valentines for the Grands....I just love the cute Love Tree Die set from Taylored Expressions!! It works for either boy or girl cards, love cards, anniversary cards, or Valentines.

Alcohol ink was spattered on the background and I used washi tape under the tree.

Two trees were cut...one white and one red. The hearts on the white tree were cut off and then the white tree trunk was glued over the red tree. The tree was popped up with foam dots...pretty easy for a fun look!! The white thread and button finish it off.

My next tree was created the same as the first only with Strawberry Milkshake card stock....it was also popped up with foam dots.  The Love sentiment die from the same set was cut from Cherry Pop and Strawberry Milkshake cardstock and layered to create a shadow effect.

One of the TE Skinny Mini Borders dies was used to cut the scallop and the Baker's Twine is the finishing touch.

My last card was created a little differently....I used the negative space created when the Strawberry Milkshake tree was cutout for the hearts on the second card. Lollipop cardstock was adhered to the back and the white hearts from the first card were inserted into the negative space (a little bit of glue was used in the space before the heart was inserted). The Love diecut was adhered over the tree trunk.

The bottom edges of the patterned paper and the white cardstock base were both cut with the TE Small Scallop Border and the ribbon and Baker's Twine were the only embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by....have a great day, be safe, warm, and get a little inky!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #325

Hello everyone....hope all is well with you!!! We had my parents 70th wedding anniversary party on Sunday....it was sooo wonderful to have my family all together along with lots of friends to celebrate!!! My sistar and her family came from Iowa....they will be going home to the frozen north this afternoon. They sure would like to stay for a while especially since our temps are up in the 50's...it's a heat wave...LOL!!!!  Anyway....

It's Wednesday and time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!! Tammy is our hostess and she has picked a real pretty color pallette for us to play with!!

My card features several Reverse Confetti stamp and die sets along with the January RC SFYTT #20. The sentiments which were stamped with Memento Gray Flannel are from Lots to Say and Fabulous Flamingo. The flowers are from the Petals 'n Posies set and they were stamped with Memento Tangelo...the leaves were stamped with Pool Party.

The dies include Doin' the Wave Confetti Cuts, Tag Me, Too, and the Petals and Posies coordinating dies. The banner was hand cut and the enamel dots and Baker's Twine finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD325 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

You will find all the challenge details on the Color Throwdown Blog.

Taylored Expressions January Release: Ships Ahoy

It's Release Day at  Taylored Expressions...WOOT!!!! Now, all the adorable stamp and die combo sets, dies, papers, and other goodies can come live in your stamp room!!!! Have you picked a favorite, yet?? I have several, including the set I used today!!

The Ships Ahoy Stamp and Die Combo set is sooo cute and perfect for masculine cards!!! My first card features the little sailboat...the sailboats were stamped on Sugar Cube cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black, and cutout with the Ships Ahoy die. They were then paper pieced with papers from the Ahoy There 6x6 paper pad from Carta Bella.

The frame was cut from the same patterned paper and the waves were created with the negative from the new TE Build a Scene-Clouds dies. The sentiments are from the same set and the button and heavy twine finishes it off.

My second card features the cute little tugboat from the Ships Ahoy Stamp and Die Combo set....it was colored with Copics, cutout with the Ships Ahoy die, and popped up with foam tape. The Salt Water Taffy cardstock was embossed on the top with the new TE Cloudy Days Embossing Folder and the clouds were sponged with white craft ink. The waves were stamped on the bottom half and sewing was done around the edges of the patterned paper layer.

The sentiment is from the same set and was stamped on the previously released Label Stacklets 3 diecut....the twine is the finishing touch.

Thanks for joining us for our January release week...I hope you found a little inspiration along the way!!! If you would like to see more product information, please head over to the TE Blog for a complete blog roll of our participating designers.
