Ni Hoo (Hello)

Good morning everyone!!! Hope all is well with you today! I have got to get busy and clean my kitchen but first I want to share a card I made a while back for one of the TLC challenges called Doodling for Dummies - Trace Doodling. We were supposed to doodle on a stamped image....I decided to doodle on the lanterns in the background!!! The background was stamped with Pistachio Pudding, colored with Copics, and then traced on all the lanterns and flags with a #2 pencil.

After I worked so hard on the first flower lantern trying to trace all the lines just so, I gave up and just started a little freestyle....I felt such freedom...LOL!!! The little Japanese girl was colored with Copics and the ribbon finished it off. I had no idea what Ni Hao meant hoping it was  rated PG!!!! However, thanks to a few stampers on Splitcoast, they let me know that it meant Hello in Chinese ( My smart little Japanese lady speaks Chinese!!!)

Supply List:
Stamps: Hero Arts Washi Lantern Bkgrd, Hero Arts Japanese Garden, NiHao by My Cute Stamps,
Paper: White, Black, Prism Frosted Azelea
Ink: Pistachio Pudding, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Copics, #2 Pencil
Techniques: Traced Doodling

Thanks for stopping by....I hope you have a super fab day!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #264

Hello everyone!! It's Wednesday again and you know what that means...it's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!!! This week it's Broni's turn to host the challenge and she has picked such beautiful colors.....I love the clothes in the inspiration picture, too!!!!

My card features stamps from a Taylored Expressions fall stamp set called Celebrate Life. Pool Party and Calypso Coral markers were used to add color to the dandelion stamp prior to stamping it on the Choice Snow White card stock and the sentiment was stamped with Night of Navy.  A piece of Calypso Coral was sewn along the edge and then the twine and button were added. The silver punched and dry embossed butterfly finishes it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD264 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

Now, do you want to see some beautiful inspiration?? Check out what the Color Throwdown Designers have created for you this week!!

Spooky Treat Bag

Hello everyone...It sure was quiet around here today. I ddn't know what to do with myself...LOL!!! We had 20 people here on Saturday and then my sister and her husband and my granddaughter stayed  Saturday night...and  on into Sunday. After everyone left, I striped the beds and  washed the sheets to get ready for our company tonight. My girl friend stays with us every Monday night because of her job....we usually watch Dancing With the Stars together while my poor hubby has to spend the evening in the craft room watching football...he is sooo abused...LOL!!! Anyway....

I had a little time this morning to make this cute little treat bag for today's Technique Lover's Challenge. Jenn challenged us to make this bag...it's made with one sheet of 8.5 x 11 patterned paper and some sticky tape.  You can find the directions here!
The clouds were sponged on Choice Snow White with Dusty Concord Distress Ink using my homemade cloud template.  The Taylored Expressions spooky house die called 13 Dead End Drive die was cutout of Choice Black card stock and was lined with Pumpkin Pie and Smoky Slate card stock. The cat, raven, and the bats were all cut out with the Gothic Window Accessory dies and adhered with foam tape and glue dots. The punched lavender card stock borders and the ribbon handles  finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today....I hope to get to all of your blogs tomorrow afternoon!!!
Have a wonderful evening!!!

May Your Days be Happy!!

Hello everyone....hope all is well with you today!!! We are sorta recovered from the first of the week...my Mother was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and was discharged yesterday. My sister has been visiting from Iowa so we took turns staying the night with mom. She is doing much better...we are sooo blessed to still have her and my Dad is our lives!!!  Anyway.....

I made a card using Taylored Expressions new fall set called We Give Thanks for last weeks Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoast.  The challenge was to make a fall card with texture and to incorporate one of the HYCCT challenges so I used the wheat image and the beautiful sentiment. The wheat and sentiment were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the wheat was colored with Copics.....the twine and Doodlebug sprinkles were added for texture. This also fits Jeanne's HYCCT1302 challenge to make a card that would make someone happy.

A frame was drawn around the edge with a brown marker to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great Thursday!!!

Paper: Choice Buttercream (TE), Soft Suede (SU), Doodlebug Happy Harvest 6x6 paper pad (TE)

The sentiment from the same set was stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. The gray cloud was cutout with the Build a Scene-Swirly Clouds die and embossed with a Dotted Swiss embossinf folder, the moon was punched from orange card stock, the bat from the Owl-o-ween was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black, and the Doodlebug Sprinkles finish it off.
