Hello everyone..it's my turn to host the Technique Lover's challenge on Splitcoast and my challenge is something completely different for some of you. We are going to do a little Freestyle Design.
So, you ask...what is Freestyle design. Well, it's exactly what the name implies...a free and spirited approach to designing a card. We are going to let our creative minds fly today!!
Freestyle Design is a process of adding elements, layers, stamped images, die cuts...anything that strikes your fancy to create your masterpiece!!
Here are the deets:
1. First of all, there are no rules!!!!
2. You can use stickers, stamps, buttons, chipboard, feathers, fabric scraps, flowers..what ever you have sitting on your work desk, in your embellie box, on the floor, or in the trash!!
3. It's usually asymmetrical or off set
4. Gather your elements and layer them into a cluster.
5. Play around with the design before you adhere them...that way you can get the look you want .
6. If you want a flat design to mail...use flat, small elements like sequins, ribbons, flat flowers, burlap, felt, chipboard, corrugated cardboard, etc.
7. If you want a CAS design, use fewer elements
8. Have fun!!!
My card features paper flowers, chipboard button, chipboard flag, large brad, all from Karen Foster. I also used a corrogated cardboard frame, twine, and fabric. The stamp is from Flourishes.
Thanks for visiting to night...I hope you have a chance to do a little Freestyle Design!! Have a great day !!!!!
