Color Throwdown #220

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!  The wonderful Wanda is our hostess this week and she picked some gorgeous colors....just perfect for a Christmas card!!!

I used the Sweet Sunday sketch #172...isn't it a fab CAS design!!! Seasons Greetings papers by Echo Park were used along with a sentiment sticker from the Little Yellow Bicycle...the Martha Stewart Punch was used for the snowflake and the button and twine finish it off. Pretty simple but I looove the sketch and will be using it a lot this Christmas!!!

Polar Bear and Christmas Trees

Hello everyone....have you recovered from Thanksgiving??? I told my hubby I couldn't eat another bite of turkey today so we got takeout from the Texas Roadhouse!! I love turkey but enough is enough...LOL!!! We had 15 for Thanksgiving this year and everyone had a great time...we all ate too much and watched a little football...life is good!!! Anyway....

I got to play with my new Memory Box Snow Globe die and an adorable  Polar Bear Stamp from Ellen Hutson...isn't the little polar bear adorable!!! The snowflakes are from an old Flourishes set and they were stamped with Versamark onto the Basic Gray background. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the twine and button finish it off.

I just love this Snowflake Tree from Rubbernecker. It was stamped with Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, and Cool Caribbean to match the cute My Minds Eye paper. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker's Snowflakes and Stardust set and the Cherry Cobbler seam binding from Stampin Up! is the finishing touch.

Two more Christmas cards for my stash....Yeaaaaa!!! Thanks for stopping by....have a great week!!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #219

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!  The wonderful Ms. Tammy is our hostess this week and she picked some beautiful colors for us to play with!!! At first I was a little intimidated with this color palette but now I love it!!! It's just perfect for a Christmas card!!!

I used Rubbernecker's Fireplace set....the fireplace and wreath were stamped on the white card stock and colored with Copics. They were then masked and the background was stamped with Rubbernecker's Screen background with Soft sky ink. The stockings, candle sticks, and the fire/logs/grate were all colored with Copics and popped up with foam dots. I drew in the floor to give it a finished look.

Be sure to add CTD219 to the keywords when you upload your card to an online gallery so we can find your work!!

TLC404 Emboss the Edges!!

Hello everyone....it's my turn to host Splitcoast's Technique Lover's Challenge and I have a real messy one for you!!! I just love the look of embossing on the edges of an image or die cut. It adds a little dimension and in some cases eliminates the need for a background layer. Soooo our challenge this week is to
  Emboss the Edges!!!

There are several ways to do this:

1. Use a Versamark pen or pad to ink up the edges of your image, designer paper layer, or die cut, add the embossing powder, and heat emboss.

2. Add ink to the edges of your image, die cut, or designer paper layer with a marker or ink pad and emboss with clear embossing powder.

3. If you don't have embossing powder you can add glue to the edges of your image, die cut, or designer paper layer and add glitter.

For my first card,  the edges of the Spellbinders Poinsettia were embossed with silver ep as were the sentiment from Rubbernecker and the edges of the sentiment die cut. A Spellbinders leaf die was used for the silver leaves, sewing and distressing were done around the edges of the background paper and the silver pearls for the flower center and silver ribbon finish it off.

This card features the Rubbernecker Snowflake Tree...it was stamped in Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy, and Soft Sky....they were all cutout and the edges were embossed with silver ep. The sentiment  is from Rubbernecker's Snowflakes and Stardust set and the twine, button, and punched snowflake finish it off.

Both of these cards qualify for the following challenges:
1. Crafty Pad Challenge  -  Christmas
2. The Kraftyhands Challenge - Christmas
3. The Paper Creator's Challenge - All about Christmas
4. The stamp Man Challenge - emboss it

Thanks for stopping by......hope you can join us for the TLC challenge on Splitcoast this week!!!!

Non-Traditional Christmas Colors

Good morning everyone...how are you on this beautiful fall day??? I'm going to work outside a little this morning cleaning out flower beds and planting pansies in a few pots. The leaves are starting to fall...we have 4 huge old oak trees in our front yard and every year on Thanksgiving the Grands rake leaves into 5 foot piles to run and jump in. Even the teenagers can't resist the leaf piles...LOL!!!  Anyway..

I have been playing around with non-traditional colors for Christmas cards. I just love the pinecone paper from The Little Yellow Bicycle....it looks sooo pretty paired with Tempting Turquoise and Kiwi Kiss!!! The Stampendous stamp set called Polar Path was used for the first card...the image was stamped with Ranger Adirondack Espresso and embossed with clear ep. It was then colored with Copics, cutout, and popped up with foam dots. An EK Success border punch was used for the scallop and a Martha Stewart punch was used for the snowflake.

This card features an Inkadinkado stamp...it was stamped with Espresso ink and the twine is the only embellishment. Both these cards are flat enough to mail so I may make a few more for my Christmas stash.

Both of these cards are for the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge - Winter Wonderland, Charisma Cards Challenge to use cool colors, and The Crafts and Me challenge to use non-traditional colors on a Christmas card.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!!

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!   The hostess this week is the lovely Lynn and she has picked some gorgeous colors for us to play with. I sooo love these colors....they will work for any theme or holiday!!!

I decided to make a Thinking of You card for my sweet friend, Kay, who is going through a tough time right now. I used this weeks i Spy Challenge sketch  and the KK Originals Birch Forest stamp from Rubbernecker. It was colored with Copics and the sentiment stamp is from Rubbernecker's Best Wishes set.  The designer paper on the bottom is from Echo Park's Season's Greetings and the burlap ribbon, seam binding, twine, and button finish it off.

Be sure to add CTD218 to the keywords when you upload your card to an online gallery so we can find your work!!

Good morning everyone....I'm back with more projects I made for the church craft sale. The first few photos are of some hot chocolate wraps...they were made with old Stampin Up! papers and stamp set.

Some of the wrappers were used for candy bars.....

I also made a few 4 card sets with photos by my friend Sue Knox.

She took these pictures in an old Texas town.....

Thanks for dropping by today.....hope you have a great Sunday!! We are going to have a little Veteran's Day dinner for my Dad, Hubby, and niece Andrea and then go to the movies. I guess that means pop corn for supper...LOL!!!

Church Craft Fair Goodies

Hello everyone!!!! I hope you are all having a great weekend!!! I am going to work on a few Christmas projects today....I will be making 12 sets of the gingerbread men like the ones below (small, medium, and large) for my family and friends.

Here are some of the projects I made for my church craft sale....

Aren't these little gingerbread men adorable....they are made with wood balls and a clay pot. The heads, arms, and clay pot bodies were all painted with acrylic paint and glued together with Tacky Glue. I painted the faces, arms, and bottom edge and then added a little pink chalk for the cheeks. A good coat of sealer spray was used before adding the bows and buttons.

I made about 37 of these candy bar wrappers and we sold them all....

My friend, Sue Knox, took all the pictures and printed them out....all I had to do was put them on a card.

I tried to keep the designs pretty CAS so the beauty of the pictures took center stage!!

I made a few of these sets using a variety of different stamps....they all have a sentiment stamped on the inside.

I'll be back tomorrow with a few more card sets I made for the craft sale.....thanks for stopping by and have a great Saturday!!!

My card features the Stamp Oasis Snowflake from Rubbernecker.... it was stamped with Night of Navy and embossed with clear embossing powder. Color Throwdown Challenge #216

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!   It's the fabulous Kerri's turn to host the challenge and what classy colors she gave us this week!!!!!!  The zebra stripe really caught my eye in the inspiration photo....Saturday is my DGD Mackenzie's 13th birthday and she looooves zebra stripes!!! So this weeks colors are just perfect for her birthday card!!!  Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors...use what you have that comes close...we want everyone to have a chance to play!!!

I also want to thank Dawn Easton for being our Guest Designer this month....how wonderful to stamp with my sweet friend all month!!!!! Thanks, girlie!!!

My card features the Zebra Striped background stamp from Rubbernecker...it was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto white card stock and Rubbernecker's Jeanne image was paper pieced with papers from Basic Grey's Konnichiwa and Simple Stories Summer Fresh. The background navy paper is from Basic Grey's Lime Rickery  and stickers are used for the dahling and Max's name. The Happy Birthday sentiment is also from Rubbernecker and I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #170. Sewing, flower, button, and twine finish it off.

This is also for Lexi's Creations challenge to make a "special birthday" card and Stamps & fun = Creativity challenge to use stitching.

Color Throwdown Challenge #215

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!   It's the lovely Lori's turn to host the challenge and what fun colors she gave us this week!!!!!!  I was going to make a Halloween card but remembered I had to make a birthday card for a friend who will celebrate her birthday next week. Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors...use what you have that comes close...we want everyone to have a chance to play!!!

My card features a floral stamp by Serendipity Stamps called Sweet Pea. It was colored with Copics and I used the iSpy Sketch #38. The stamp only had one butterfly so I stamped two more, colored them with Copics, cut them out, and popped them up with foam dots. The ribbon and brick embossing folder finished it off.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Creative Craft Challenges2 - 3 of something
2. Use it Tuesday - orange (I have had the ribbon for 2 years and this is the first time to use it)
3. Catered Crop - circles/circle shapes

Boo-Frickity-Hoo

Hello everyone....hope all is well with you!!! We have had some beautiful fall days here...the temps are in the 70's (a real cold wave for Central Texas!!). We went to Plano yesterday to see the house that my niece rented....she has a job now but not sure of the start date. She will find out all the details tomorrow....yeaaaa!!! It's been a crazy month for her but I think it will all come together soon!!! We will miss them and the 5 little pups when they move out....I may have to get a dog so I don't go into withdrawal...LOL!!!! Anyway.....

It'd my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast this week and guess what...it's #400 challenge!!! Yup....we have had challenges on Splitcoast for almost 8 years...WOW!!! We should have a drum roll or something a little festive to announce the challenge.... my challenge is to "cut it up!!

You can:
1. Stamp an image and cut it into squares, circles, rectangles, etc. for a blocked background.
2. Color an image ( it can be stamped or a digi) and cut it up into squares for a blocked background.
3. You can cut the image in a random pattern for a crazy quilt pattern
4. You can even cut the image into a quilt pattern
5. The cut up image can be used for a background or for the main image ...I used mine for a background.
6. There is only one rule....you have to use an image of some kind, not patterned paper!!!
7. Have fun!!!!

My card features stamps from Rubbernecker....the bat image from Rubbernecker's Halloween Set 1 and the Haunted House were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black, colored with Copics, cut into squares, and adhered to black card stock. The little Dragon Boy was colored with Copics, cut out, and adhered with foam dots. The sentiment is from the Halloween Set 3 and the twine finishes it off.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Come and Get It Challenge - Halloween
2. Dream Valley Challenge - Halloween
3. Eclectic Ellapu - Halloween
4. No Matter Which Challenge - Halloween
5. 2 Sisters Challenge - Cute and Creepy

Thanks for stopping by....I hope you have time to join us on Splitcoast for this weeks challenge!!! I would love to see what you create!!!!

Happy Saturday!!!

Good morning everyone....hope all is well with you!!! We have been on the go all week!!  I don't think anything got done around the house, either...oh well, so what else is new???  Our church Christmas craft sale is in a couple of weeks and I have been making lots of goodies!!! I will get a few pictures taken so I can start sharing all the projects with you!! I did get to stamp a little at the first of the week....this card was made with a Glitz Design set called dancing in Sunshine. The silhouette image was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored in with a Copic. The rain drops were stamped with Pool Party onto Pool Party card stock and the background kraft layer was dry embossed.  Twine from The Twinery is the only embellie.

This card was made for last weeks Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast to make an acrylic block collage. For my card, I used some ranger inks for the color blocking, a Rubbernecker Script stamp in the background, and leaves from Rubbernecker's Fall Trilogy set on top. I'm afraid the color didn't take in places but that's ok...makes it looks kinda rustic and the raffia finishes it off.

Thanks for dropping by...have a great day!!!!!

Then the images were all masked so clouds could be sponged on the background with Bashful Blue.
