Color Throwdown Challenge #346


Hello everyone!! I hope you have had a fun filled week!!! We have been entertaining the Grands...sleep-overs, softball games, eating out...don't ya just love summer!!! It's been in the 90's here with no rain...yikes!! I better water my poor thirsty plants in the morning!! It's either feast or famine around here...LOL!! Anyway...
It's Wednesday and time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!! Barbara is our hostess and she has picked some pretty earthy colors for us this week!! 


My card features two Taylored Expressions die sets: Various Vases and Silhouette Stems 4. The vase was cut out of Toffee cardstock and embossed with the TE Burlap Embossing Folder. The flower was first cutout of Granny Smith cardstock and then again out of pink patterned paper. The pink flowers were cutout and adhered over the green diecut...it was then adhered to the back of the vase and the then adhered to the Sugar Cube cardstock. 


The background was splattered with Pink Passion Reinker and the sentiment from the TE Bloomin Boots stamp set was stamped with Memento Gray Flannel. The scrap paper flags and the green flower center gems finish it off.

Chillin Grands....

Grands out of control!!!

Caitlyn's 1st grade awards program...she got a silver metal for reading 220 books this semester and straight A's...Woot!!!

Cole's 5th grade presentation....his group picked Child Soldiers in Africa as their subject. 

They worked on this project for 2 months. They did all the research, video prep, and script after school and on weekends....

...they did a fantastic job!!!

We all went to Coppers Cove to see Caitlyn's softball game last night...

She is the only girl on the team with a pink camo batter's helmet...she was stylin!!!

Caitlyn was so excited to see her cousins at the game!!

Mackenzie calls Caitlyn her mini me....check out the blue and lavender braces!!

Taylored Expressions June Release: Eventful - Pool Party

Hello everyone and welcome to the Taylored Expressions June Release Day!!!!! Now, all your favorite stamps and dies are available for purchase in the New Section of the Taylored Expressions Store!!!!  How cool is that!!!!! Are  you ready for more inspiration???  I have one more project to show you featuring the Eventful - Pool Party die. 

My card features the awesome Eventful - Pool Party die. It was cut out of Sugar Cube cardstock and adhered to the wave that was cut with the Build a Scene - Rolling Waves dies and embossed with the Bubbles Embossing Folder. 

The sentiment is from the previously released Big Kahuna stamp set and the twine finishes it off.

Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks: Flip Flop Garland and Berry Special

Hello everyone and welcome to day three of the Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks!!! Have you picked a favorite die or stamp set from the last two days?? I just love anything to do with the sea or the beach so I love it all!!!! Remember, the June Release is Tomorrow, Thursday, June 4th, at 7:00 AM PST (9:00 CST).

My first project is a note card set using the super cute Flip Flop Garland dies and the Bloomers 2 flower dies. 

The flip flops were cut out of scrap patterned paper...the paper was folded and the die was set just off the fold at the top so the note card would open. The flowers were cut out of cardstock and patterned papers and adhered together with foam tape. The blue top piece was also popped up with foam tape and....


 the previously released Pockets and Pages June Script dies were used to cut the sentiments out of Cookie Monster cardstock. Enamel dots were added and a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock was cut to fot the inside. 


 My second project is a card created with the Berry Special stamp set, the Peek - a - Boo Circles die, the Little Bits - Fruit, and the Rainbow Scallop Border die. The Peek - a - Boo Circles die was used to cut two different patterned paper pieces and the circles from the green gingham paper were popped up in the open circles of the other one. The cherries were added to the outside circles and the sentiment was stamped in the center. 


 The Rainbow Scallop Border die was used for the borders and sewing finishes it off.

Color Throwdown Challenge #345


Hello everyone....hope all is well with you!!! We have had a couple of sunny days this week without rain!!! I'm sure we will be praying for rain come August and September when it's over 100 degrees for days on end but right now, it's kinda nice to walk outside and feel the sun, not rain!!! We went to our grandson Cole's project presentation Monday and this morning we have our granddaughter Caitlyn's awards program...tomorrow we have Cole's graduation from the 5th grade and then our summer starts with a bang!! Cole is moving in for a few weeks and his sister, Autumn will follow in a week or so.  When the other grands hear they are in town, we will have a house full...oh boy...I better start taking my Geratol...LOL!!! Anyway.... It's Wednesday and time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Wanda is our hostess and she has picked  some bold and beautiful colors for us to play with!!!


I played with some old but well loved stamps this week...the fern is from the Flourishes Ferns and Fiddles set. It was stamped with Pear Pizzazz and the butterfly is from the Stampin Up! set called Bliss Butterfly. It was stamped with Memento Lady Bug and splatters were done with the same ink. 



The sentiment is from Lots to Say by Reverse Confetti and the corner stamp is from Postcards From Paris by Technique Tuesday. The enamel dots finish it off.
