Taylored Expressions January Sneak Peeks: Pockets & Pages and Blooming Heart Cutting Plate

Hello everyone and welcome to day 2 of the Taylored Expressions January Sneak Peeks!!! Didn't you just love all the fabulous projects the Baker's Dozen created yesterday!!! I hope you are ready to be inspired by all the gorgeousness today!!!

My first project is a Pockets and Pages Scrapbooking page of my hubby, George.  In February 1998 he bought a new boat....I know it doesn't look like February but we live in Texas and we only have a few weeks of winter each year. Our spring starts the last of January...I gotta tell ya....It can't get here any too soon because today it's 16 degrees outside this morning...LOL!!!

I used one of the new stamp sets and several new dies for my project....

The arrows are from the previously released set called Cupid's Arrow

From left to right.... the first pocket: 3x4 Pocket - Part of My Heart cut out of MME Cupid's arrow 6x6 paper pad,  Pockets and Pages - February Script cut out of regal rose cardstock, the small heart from the Heart Stacklets cut from regal rose card stock and an enamel heart is the finishing touch. The second pocket features the 3x4 Pocket - XOXO cut from choice Black card stock with tiny enamel hearts details. The script was written with a Project Life Journaling Pen

The string of hearts was made with one of the smallest Heart Stacklets and they were sewn together.

The heart was cut from one of the largest Heart Stacklets and one of the arrows from the Cupid's Arrow die set was cut in half and adhered under the picture.

From right to left....the 3x4 Pocket - You are Loved die was used with Prism Iced Cobult card stock and the blue enamel heart was added. The next pocket features the 3x4 Pocket - XOXO die cut from Choice Black card stock and the sentiment from the new Love Makes The World Go Round was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black....red enamel dots were added and all the pockets feature papers from the MME Cupic's arrow 6x6 paper pad.

My second project features the new Blooming Hearts Cutting Plate...it was used to cut three different diecuts: pink pirouette, Choice Black, and Pretty in Pink. The light pink diecut was adhered on top of the black one just a touch off center so the black shows as a shadow. The darker pink hearts were added and the larger Heart Stacklets were used to cut out the Robin's Egg Blue felt heart and the pretty in pink heart.

The hemp cording and Cupid's Arrow diecut arrow were adhered to the back of the pink heart cut with a Heart Stacklet die after it was pierced and stamped with the sentiment from the new A Lovely View stamp set.  Yeaaaa... one more valentine completed!!!!

Now, how about a little inspiration from the Baker's Dozen Design team.....you are going to love what they created for you, today!!!!

Thanks for visiting today.....we will have more fabulous sneaks for you tomorrow and then the Taylored Expressions January Release will by Thursday morning at 9:00 CST...Woot!!!!

Taylored Expressions January Sneak Peeks: A Lovely View and Sack it - Pig

Hello everyone and welcome to day 1 of the Taylored Expressions January Sneak Peeks!!! This is such a fun release...full of adorable stamp sets and dies for every occasion, especially Valentines Day!!! I always make lots of Valentines for my children and grands so I had a great time playing with all the new goodies!!! The January Release will be on Thursday, January 9th at 9:00 AM CST....all the new stamps and dies will be available for purchase at that time. Now, let me show you what I made for today!!!

My first card features a new stamp set called A Lovely View. I also used the new window die called Display Window and the previously released Window Accessories. The sweet image was colored with Copics and adhered to the back of the window opening. Another window was cut from a piece of brown card stock and added to the back of the white window a little off center for a shadow effect. The shutters and window box were  also cut from brown card stock and a white window box was added to the back for a shadow.

The hearts are the negatives from the new Blooming Hearts Cutting Plate and the sentiment is also from A Lovely View. It was stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. The punched ferns and a little sewing and distressing finishes it off.

My second card is one of my favorites....I just love this Sack It - Pig!!! Instead of using the Sack It die to make a gift bag, I decided to make a card. The Sack It - Pig dies were cutout of different shades of pink card stock for the snout, Choice Black for the eyes, and pool party for the bows. The new Tag Stacklets 2 dies were used for the pig base and the Tag Reinforcement die was used around the tag hole for the Baker's Twine.

A little sponging was done for the pigs cheeks and tiny white paper  dots were added
for highlights. The sentiment from the new Sack it Sentiments set was stamped on Choice Snow White and cut out with the round die from the new Super Suckers Die set and the doily, sewing, and enamel heart shapes finish it off.

Now, how about a little inspiration from the Baker's Dozen Design Team....their projects are going to blow you away!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today...be sure to stop back tomorrow for more Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks....I know you will love all the new stuff!!!!

TLC463 Circle Flower

Hello everyone and welcome to the first TLC challenge on Splitcoast in 2014!!!  I was going to revisit an old technique but I found the coolest flower out there in blog land that was made with hexagon pieces. Well, wouldn’t you know...I don’t own a hexagon die so I made the flower with a 1 3/8" round punch and it worked just fine!!! So, this weeks challenge to you is to make a Circle Flower!!! If you own a hexagon die and want to use it for today’s challenge, please do so.

Here are the deets:

1. Punch out 7 or 8 circles from patterned paper or cardstock depending on the size of round punch or die you use.
2. Punch or cutout a 1 ½ -2" circle from card stock for the backing.
3. Divide the circle into thirds around the edges by placing a mark lightly with a pencil
4. Fold in two of the sides using your pencil points as a guide to create a V shape
5. Place the petals around the edge of the larger base circle to create your flower. Play with placement of the pieces before you glue them down. I used double sided tape so I could move the pieces around a bit
6. You will have to adjust some of the folds so the background base circle doesn’t show.
7. Add a button, pearl, or other embellishment to the center.

Here is a picture tutorial to go along with the above details.

Thanks for stopping by...I hope you give this flower a try...it's really fun!!!
