Taylored Expressions September Release Day: Halloween Doodles and Spider Web Cutting Plate

Hello everyone!!!  Today is the day you have been waiting for...Taylored Expressions September Release Day....and it is TE's actual  birthday...they turn 5 on the 5th!! How cool is that!!!!!! Whoohoo!!!! The store is open and all the fabulous goodies we have been showing you this week are for sale in the new products section!!!!

We are continuing with our 5th Birthday Celebration with another game, today!!!!  The game today is called *What's Different*.....be sure to check it out on the Taylored Expressions Blog. You could be the winner of a TE gift certificate!!!!!!

I have two projects to show you today....the first is a card I made with the adorable Halloween Doodles set and the Spider Web Cutting Plate!!

The spider web was cut out of basic black card stock using the Spider Web Cutting Plate....it was adhered to patterned paper from the Halloween Project Pantry kit which includes papers from Doodlebug Halloween Parade 6x6 paper pad
The sentiment, frame, and spider all from Halloween Doodles were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White card stock. The frame was colored with a Copic marker and adhered to the green cardstock which was also cutout by hand.  It was then popped up with foam tape.

The witches legs were cutout of Marvelous Magenta card stock with The Witch is In dies and lined with green card stock. Crystal Effects was used on the shoes and  glitter was added along with Taylor's Tiny Twinkles.  Crystal Effects was also added to the spider along with glitter and googly eyes . The cat from the Gothic Window Accessories dies was added along with Doodlebug Sprinkles and ribbon from the Halloween Project Pantry kit.

My second project is a scrapbook page made with pictures of my Grands. Black acrylic paint was splattered and smeared on the orange scrapbook paper and the black polka dot scrap paper was glued along the side.  Halloween Doodles stamps (the BOO, spiders, Spider web, pumpkin, witches hat, sentiments, and monster) were all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. The hat, monster, and pumpkin were all stamped on different colored cardstock, cutout, and popped up with foam tape. Papers, ribbon,  and card stock from the Halloween Project Pantry kit were used along with Doodlebug Washi Tape and Doodlebug Sprinkles.  The 13 Dead End Drive die was used with black cardstock to create the spooky house.....it was  lined with bright yellow cardstock and adhered over the picture. The Witch is In dies were used for the witches legs...they were cut out of black card stock and adhered under the picture. The twine is the finishing touch.

I have lots and lots of Halloween pictures of the kids...I plan to make a separate scrapbook album with only Halloween pages of my children and grandchildren.  I will definitely be wearing out all the new Halloween stamps and dies!!!

Are you ready for some awesome inspiration from the Baker's Dozen DT?? Check it out!!!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks: A Spooky View, Gothic Window, and Bag It, Tag It

Hello everyone!! Today is day two of Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks and boy, do we have some spooky goodies to show you!!!! Halloween is right around the corner so it's time to start creating those fun, scary projects!!! Don't forget....the new September release goes live tomorrow, Thursday, September 5 at 8:00 AM PST....you are going to love all the fabulous new stamps and dies!!!

Since this is Taylored Expressions 5th birthday bash week, we will have another game for you...it's called i-Spy!! You can get all the info on how to play along for a chance to win a gift certificate  on the Taylored Expressions blog!!

Today, I have a 1 -2 - 3 post for you....1 card, 2 invitations, and 3 gift bags!!

First up is the card....

I just love Halloween...it's a time when we all get to be kids again and have loads of fun!!! The new A Spooky View set has four different Halloween scenes to play with and three different sentiments. I have used one of the scene stamps for my card today. It was colored with Copics and popped up on foam tape. The background was created with patterned papers, card stock, and ribbon  from the Taylored Expressions Halloween Project Pantry Kit which includes papers from Doodlebug's Halloween Parade.

The orange layer was cut with the Label Stacklets 4, the sentiment is from the Too Cute To Spook set, and the Doodlebug Sprinkles finishes it off.
.

Now for the 2 invitations....

Aren't these fun and sooo spooky!!! They were made with two of the stamps from A Spooky View, the Gothic Window Die, the Gothic Window Accessories Dies, and the Label Stacklets 5 which coordinate with the Gothic Window.
A brayer was used to apply Pumpkin Pie and Ranger Spiced Marmalade inks to Choice Snow White card stock. The stamps from A Spooky View were then stamped with Versamark Onyx Black onto the orange background. The images were cutout with the Label Stacklets 5,  adhered to the Gothic Window die cut and then adhered to Lavender Lace and Kiwi Kiss card stock which were cutout with the Label Stacklets 5. The largest Label Stacklet 5 was used to cut out the Pumpkin Pie card base...the card stock was folded in half and the die was placed just off the fold so it wouldn't cut through the fold which created the card.

The inside was created with Choice Snow White card stock and Basic Black card stock. The sentiment from the same set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and die cuts from the Gothic Window Accessories dies (bats, cat, and raven) were cutout of black card stock and added to the front and inside...the twine finishes it off.

Last up are the 3 Muslin Gift Bags...They were so much fun to make and will be perfect gifts for my three little grandsons!!!!

Versafine Onyx Black ink was used to stamp the adorable Halloween images from the Bag It Tag It set and then Copics  were used to add a little color.

A black Copic was used to add a little more color to the black house and fence...lighter areas were left for some highlights and a yellow Copic was used to color the windows.

The witch was stamped with Black Onyx and a black Copic was used to darken the black stamped area and to add color behind the witch. A piece of card stock was placed inside the bag before coloring and stamping so the color wouldn't leak through to the back.

A small sponge was used to add some Ranger Spiced Marmalade to the spider web.

The fun little toppers were created with the Gothic Window Accessories dies for the pumpkin and cat...two diecuts were cut and then they were glued together with the Doodlebug Pixies. The spider from the Halloween Doodles set was stamped twice with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White card stock, cutout, and glued together with right sides toward the outside. Since they are not mirror images, I had to do a little trimming so they would look even. The area around the legs was colored with a Copic and the googly eyes were added. Raffia bows finished them off.

Thanks for stopping by to see all see all the new goodies...come back tomorrow for the September Release at 8:00 AM PST...everything will be available in the Taylored Expressions Store in the new products section!!!...whoohoo...can't wait to shop!!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #258

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Lynn is the hostess with the mostess this week and she has picked some warm, earthy colors for us to play with!!
Sadly, we have to say good by to our August Guestie, Kendra Wietstock...didn't she make some fabulous projects for our challenges!! Thanks for joining us, Kendra!! Now I would like to introduce you to our September Guestie....Susan Roberts...thanks for joining us this month!!!!

My card features three different stamp sets: The little leaves from Paper Smooches Autumn Groves, The branch from the Craft's Meow's Happy Owlentine's Day, and the Owl image from Gina K's Birthday Hoot. First, the owl image was stamped on the white card stock with Memento Rich Cocoa. I then used my home made cloud template to sponge clouds with sage shadow ink. The owl, balloons, branch, and leaves were all paper pieced with scraps from my stash . The sentiment is from the same set and the twine and googly eyes finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD258 to the keywords section when you upload your card to an online gallery so we can find your work!!!

Taylored Expressions September Sneak Peeks: From Me To You and Birthday Treat Toppers

Hello everyone and welcome to the birthday party....Taylored Expressions is celebrating their 5th birthday...Whoohoo....Happy Birthday, Taylor!!!!!!!!!!!  We will have some classic party games that you can play along with each day and all the new products will be available on Thursday, September 5th at 8:00 AM PST.  How exciting is that!!!

My first project features three new dies....don't you just love dies!!! They make a crafter's life much easier!!!

The cute image dies are called Birthday Treat Toppers...aren't they fun!!  They were layered on the Bloomin' Stacklets 1 diecuts and the tag layer was made with the Bracket Notecard die. Foam tape was used to adhere the top Bloomin' Stacklet 1 diecut to the larger one for a little dimension. The only embellishments are the Doodlebug Sprinkles and the Baker's Twine.

The reason I love Taylored Expressions dies so much is that they are so versatile....the Birthday Treat Toppers can be used on a card, tag, mini notes, or as a cupcake topper. I can also see them on recipe cards, birthday party decorations, gift bags,  or invitations!!
The same goes for the Bloomin' Stacklets 1 and the Bracket Notecard dies...the next project I make with the Bracket Notecard die will be magnetic bookmarks for stocking stuffers but we will save that for another day!!

My next project is the gift bag and it qualifies for the first game....a tic tac toe game!
I followed the bottom row...use a button, use 2 or more dies, and use a ribbon.  You can play along, too.... all the details are on Taylor's blog found here. If you enter, you could win some awesome prizes!!!!

The bag was created with patterned paper from Echo Park's Bundle of Joy 6x6 paper pad....sewing was done around the edges of the background layer and the banners were hand cut. The scalloped layer at the top was made from the negative of the Bracket Notecard die (see what I mean about being versatile!!). I saw the scraps of pink pirouette on the counter after cutting out a tag and thought it looked really pretty.....that's why I never throw anything away...LOL!!! The pink layer was embossed with a Dotted Swiss embossing folder and the button with the ribbon finishes it off.

The sentiment is from the From Me To You set....it's this month's promotional set which is free with your order of $50.00 or more (before tax and shipping) . You will receive this petite stamp set and die combo From Me To You (a $17 value). This offer is good through September 15th or while supplies last....one free set per customer. Check it out!!

I know I'll be using this set often....it's just the right size and it has the perfect sentiments!!!!

My next project is the card....

It was made with the fabulous Party Banner Cutting Plate....I just loooove this cutting plate!!!  It was used to cut out the chocolate chip and the polka dot patterned paper from Echo Park's Bundle of Joy 6x6 paper pad. Each of the patterned paper flags were trimmed down and glued onto the Chocolate Chip layer. The cutting plate has a rectangle cutout area that can be used for a sentiment but I decided to add a piece of the patterned paper and a tilted pretty in pink layer...they both were cutout with Label Stacklets 6 dies. The tilted panel was embossed with the Dotted Swiss embossing folder and the ribbon was added along with a button so this qualifies for the tic tac toe game, too!!!! The sentiment is from the From me To You set...it was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto pink pirouette, fussy cut, and adhered to the chocolate chip layer that was cutout with the From Me To You coordinating die. It was then adhered with foam tape to the background.

Here is the whole set.....

How would you like to see a little inspiration from the Baker's Dozen DT.....you are going to love all their projects!!!

Thanks for stopping by today...I hope you found something you couldn't live without!!! Be sure to stop back tomorrow for more sneak peeks and another game with lots of prizes...we will be celebrating Taylored Expressions 5th birthday all week and don't forget the September release will begin Thursday, September 5th at 8:00 AM PST!!

TLC445 You are Truly a Blessing

Hello everyone.....hope all is well with you!!! Things have been a little crazy around here....we finally finished all the painting so I can get back in the craft room!!! My hubs decided we were finished because he wanted to go fishing....I know where his priorities are.....LOL!!!!  So he went fishing Friday morning and I stayed home to clean up the mess....what's wrong with this picture???? Don't worry...I have a honey do list for him when he gets home tonight....yeaaa me!!!!! OK, enough of my complaining....lets talk stamping!!!

It's my turn to host the TLC challenge on Splitcoast this week and before we get to the challenge.....Judy and I have some exciting news!! We are going to add some awesome designers to our little DT group....however, you will have to wait one more week to find out who they are!! I know, I am such a tease....LOL!!! You will have to wait till next week and then Judy will fill you in on all the details!!!!

I do have something I can tell you....Judy and I will be revisiting an old TLC once a month. We could be following the challenge as it's written or changing things up just a little and September is my month....Whoohoo!!!!  Soooooo

We are going to revisit TLC133...Make a Little Gamsol Magic. I am going to put a twist on the challenge, though. Here are the deets:

1. You can use Gamsol or Baby Oil with your colored pencils
2. Don't have colored pencils?? You can use any markers you want....I'm easy!!!!
3. You can use Stampin Up! markers, Distress Markers, Copics, Promarkers....what ever you have to color something fabulous!!!

I used Copics to color the sweet little poppies from Sweet n Sassy's Precious Poppies set...the sentiment is from the same set and the seam binding finishes it off. The background paper came from my stash so I don't know who it belongs to.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day and I will be by to see all my blogging friends tomorrow!!!
