Taylored Expressions August Sneak Peek: Day 3 - A Classy View and Love Teaching

Hello everyone...welcome to day three of the Taylored Expressions August Sneak Peeks!!! Are you blown away yet with all the fabulous stamp sets and dies that will be available tomorrow...August 8th at 8:00 AM PST. The Facebook Preview Party will be tonight at 6:00 PST....hope to see you there!!!

I have two cards for you today....both are just perfect for that special teacher in your life!!! Our church has adopted the elementary school that is right next door to us. Every year we collect school supplies and clothing for the teacher's supply closet. It would break your heart to know how many children go to school without coats or shoes that fit. The teachers even spend their own money to clothe some of the kids. Our church members have a real soft spot in their hearts for the teachers of Scott Elementary and we will be using these stamp sets often to show them our affection and appreciation!!!

The first one was made with the A Classy View stamp set....the image was colored with Copics, cutout, and adhered to the tag that was made with Bermuda Bay card stock.....the slit was punched with the horizontal slot punch and the fiber ribbon was tied with twine. The chevrons were cut out of the Boy Crazy dp by My Minds Eye,  adhered to the white card base, and the sentiment from the same set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.  The tag was adhered to the Label Stacklets 4 layers with foam tape and the sun which was cutout of the Boy Crazy dp with the Build a Scene - Sunshine dies was also adhered with foam tape. The button with twine added to the sun and the twine finishes it off.

My second card features the Love Teaching sentiment stamp and the cute little school house from the Classroom Cuties set. The sentiment was stamped on the Boy Crazy dp and a spiral punch was used on the top edge. It was layered on a piece of Real Red card stock that was cutout with the Label Stacklets 4 die. The Tempting Turquoise hand cut banner in the background was embossed with a large dot folder and sewing was done at the top. Sewing was done around the edges of the small banner and the button with twine was adhered with a glue dot.

The cute little school house was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black,  cutout with the coordinating die called Back to School, and colored with Copics. It was adhered with foam tape...the background paper is also from the Boy Crazy 6x6 Paper Pad and sewing and distressing were done around the edges. It was adhered to the Real Red layer and Choice Buttercream was used for the card base......the baker's twine finishes it off.

Check out all the FABULOUS Sneak Peeks created by the Baker's Dozen Design Team!!!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek: Day 2 - Happy Retirement Wall Hanging

Hello everyone and welcome to day two of the Taylored Expressions August Sneak Peeks!!!! Weren't the sample cards and projects from yesterday fabulous...I can't wait for you to see all the gorgeous designs we have in store for you today!!!!!

For my project today, I made a wall hanging using a chipboard coaster for the base and stamps from Workplace Wishes,  Office Ephemera,  From The Desk Of die set, and the Label Stacklets 4 dies.

I was really excited to work with both of the office sets and matching dies because I have several friends who will be retiring this year and I wanted to make them each something special!!! I had to giggle when I was stamping the main sentiment because in our department, we tend to gather in the tiny kitchen where we all fill our water bottles from the ice machine....I'm sure this will hold lots of fun memories for my friend!!

The banners were cut by hand and the bottom two were stamped with sentiments from the Office Ephemera set....the tape dispenser stamp is from the same set .  The Happy Retirement stamp and the main sentiment stamp were both from the Workplace Wishes set.

Lots of die cuts from the From the Desk Of die set were used: the clip and paper clip were cut from silver card stock; the parenthesis were cut from black card stock;  the star,  push pin, and the & sign were all cut from Bermuda Bay card stock; Label Stacklets 4 were used for the sentiment layers; the tape dispenser was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto So Saffron card stock and cutout with the coordinating die.  Park Bench dp from Fancy Pants was used for the background and main sentiment background layers..... the ribbon hanger and Candy Dots finish it off.

Check out what the Baker's Dozen design team  has created for today....Such AWESOME Sneak Peeks !!!

Taylored Expressions August Sneak Peek: Day 1 - Butterfly Parade and Hey, Sweet Tea

Hello everyone and welcome to day one of  Taylored Expressions August sneak peeks...I am really excited about this release because it's my first as one of the Baker's Dozen and it has such FABULOUS new stamp sets and dies!!!! I can't wait for you to see all the new goodies....The release is Thursday at 8:00AM PST. In the meantime, we will be showing you lots of sneak peeks everyday until the release so sit back, relax, and get ready for the show!!!!

My first card features the beautiful butterfly and sentiment stamps from the Butterfly Parade set and the matching dies called Butterfly in the Sky. When I first saw this set, all I could think about was a pink and black color combo. I laid out several different colors but kept going back to pink and black...I guess it was ment to be..LOL!!!!
The three different butterflies were stamped on Pink Pirouette card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black, cutout, and adhered to the black butterflies that were cutout with the Butterfly in the Sky dies. The sentiment is from the same set and it was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. The patterned paper is from the Park Bench 6x6 paper pad by Fancy Pants and the pink wrinkled seam binding, black pearl flourishes. and the black pearls finish it off.

My next card features the adorable Hey, Sweet Tea set.....don't you just love that adorable Mason jar!!! I can't count how many times I have fixed iced tea or lemonade and served it in a Mason jar...this set brings back many happy memories of fun summer days with kids running through the sprinkler and lots of BBQ!!!!

The Mason jar from the Hey, Sweet Tea set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on white card stock, colored with Copics, and cutout with the Mason Jar Glass & Lid die. The ice cubes were stamped, covered with Crystal Effects, and dusted with glitter. Then an exacto knife was used to cut the underside of the jar rim so the straw could be inserted. The lemon was also stamped, colored with Copics, cutout, and adhered to the jar rim. The sentiment was stamped onto the Labels 4 layer, matted with black,  and then it was adhered to the doily half.....a thin piece of black card stock serves as the *table*. The corners of the background Down by the Shore dp from Fancy Pants were punched with a corner rounder and sewing was done around the edges. The twine is the finishing touch.

Now, are you ready to see more awesome sneak peeks from the Baker's Dozen design team?? Check it out!!

TLC441 Happy Birthday

Hello everyone!!! I hope you had a great weekend...we didn't do a whole lot. It's been too hot outside to do much of anything...the dog doesn't even want to go outside to do his business...LOL!!! I am sooo ready for fall!!!! Our garden is still producing despite the heat...my hubs picked several cantaloupe, cucumbers, okra, tomatoes, green peppers, and another watermelon but it wasn't ripe. He counted over 40 of the little green fellas that will be ready to eat in another week or so....yikes!! I better have a lotta friends who like watermelon...LOL!!! Anyway....

It's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast and I have another challenge using sentiments. Larger sentiment stamps are so trendy now, however, I don't have very many of them, sooooo...we are going to make one of our own by using a bunch of smaller sentiments. The challenge is called  Mix Up the Sentiments!! Here are the deets:

1. Look through your stamp sets and pick out several sentiments that have a similar theme.
2. Pick out several different ink colors
3.Lay out your stamps on your paper to create the pattern you want...place some of  them horizantal, vertical, or diagonal...what ever works for your design
4. Stamp the sentiments to create a large focal sentiment, trim the layer, and create your card.

My card features sentiments, a cup cake, and a background design stamp from three different
Reverse Confetti Stamp Sets: Whole Lotta Dots, Celebrate Cake, and Peacock Pretties. The sentiments were all stamped with Certainly Celery, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Strawberry Slush. The arrow dies are from MFT's and the twine is the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by...I hope you can find a little time this week to join us for this weeks TLC challenge!!!!

Exciting News!!!

Hello everyone!!! I hope you are having a wonderful and fabulous summer day!!!! I have some really exciting news to share with you today!!! As you know, I was  the May/June Guest Designer for Taylored Expressions and guess what!!! Taylor has asked me to join her fabulous Baker's Dozen Design team....Whoohoo!!!!! I can't believe I am actually on their design team....someone pinch me please...LOL!!!! You can check out the announcement on the Taylored Expressions blog found here!!

To celebrate, I just had to make a summery card...I kinda wish I was on the beach right now!!! Stamps from three TE stamp sets were used: The ship from A Day in Paradise, the sun , sentiment, and rick rack from Garden Party Blooms, and the trees from Ride the Wave.

The sun was stamped with Summer Sun and the ship was stamped with Night of Navy. The red stripe and the yellow part of the sale were colored with Copics. The rick rack was stamped on a scrap piece of white with Pool Party, cutout, and adhered under the ship for the waves. Then the clouds were sponged on with Bashful Blue. The Kraft sand was adhered and then the trees were stamped on with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. The sentiment was stamped with Night of Navy and the twine and button finishes it off.

I hope you will stop back next week because we start showing our sneak peeks on Monday and the new August Stamp Reveal will be on Thursday....I can't wait for you to see all the awesome new stamps and dies!!!!
