Wacky Wednesday and The Dirty Dozen / Alumni Challenge

Good morning everyone!!! It's Wednesday and you know what that means...it's time for another Rubbernecker Wacky Wednesday!!! The hostess this week is Candy and her challenge is to use inchies!! I decided to use the Rubbernecker Birthday Borders set...I just love these little cupcakes!! The cupcake border was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, colored with copics, cut into inch squares and attached to the matting. The greeting banner was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and attached with glue dots at intervals to create the wave.

Piercing, pearls, and gingham ribbon finishes it off. The closeup shows the wave in the banner.
The Stampin Up! scalloped border punch was used on the bottom edge.

Dirty Dozen /Alumni Monthly Challenge

This months Dirty Dozen/Alumni Challenge is to create a project that has something to do with water. It can be in the stamps, paper, or embellishments. We are to celebrate the happiness of warm weather and warm water. The only requirements are that we are to use watercoloring somewhere on the card and we can only use two embellishments...yikes!!!

I decided to use this gorgeous stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs called Foot Prints in the Sand. The image was stamped on different shades of Prism paper three times. The top two layers were cutout with Nesties to line up with the bottom layer so the entire image can be read as if there were no layers...I hope that makes sense!! The foot prints and the water at the top were watercolored with Tempting Turquoise.

The Rubbernecker Shells were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto the Prism papers, cutout, and attached with dimensionals.

My two embellishments are the May Arts Ribbon and the brown pearls.

Recipe:
Stamps: ODBD and Rubbernecker
Paper: Prism Iced Teal, Frosted Teal, Vibrant Teal, Suede Brown Dark
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: May Arts Ribbon, Brown Pearls, Dimensionals, Nestabilities

Thanks so much for visiting ....have a great day!!!!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday and Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday

I have one more card for today...I made this little card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge hosted by the Fabulous Silke to make a square card and for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. As I understand it, the tea party is being held in a cabin in the woods...yikes!! Sure hope there is running water and ice for my Diet Coke!!!

The adorable Flourishes Love Nest images were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto white and Bordering Blue. I ran the BB background through the cuttlebug, popped the birdcage wirh dimensionals, and colored the birds lightly with BB ink pad and an aqua pen. TFL and if you don't hear from me in a day or two, ya better send out a search party!!!!

Orange You Sweet!!!

You may need to wear your sunglasses for this post...the colors for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast today are Only Orange, Brilliant Blue, and Purely Ponegranate or Rose Red...yikes!!! It took me a while to figure out what to make...I finally decided since one of the colors was orange, I might as well work with oranges...makes since, doesn't it!!!

The fruit, bowl, and sentiment are images from Clear Dollar Stamps Fruity Fun set. They were stamped with craft inks and embossed with clear ep. The gingham paper came from Hobby Lobby (mine is only about 5 blocks away...whoohoo!!) and the button with ribbon finishes it off.

The close up shows all the dimension...the fruit and bowl were all cutout and attached with dimensionals. The strip at the top is the leftover piece from the dp after punching put the scallops...I couldn't just throw it away!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Fruity Fun
Paper: Brilliant Blue, Only Orange, White, The Paper Studio dp
Ink: Only Orange Craft, Brilliant Blue Craft, Rose Red Craft
Accessories: Flower, Button, Ribbon, Dimensionals, Nestabilities, SU Scallop Border Punch

Now I'm off to make some challenge cards...I get to stamp all day...Woot!!! Thanks for dropping by...have a great day!!!

Five Card Upload...Whoohoo!!!

Hello everyone!!! This has been such a great Monday morning...we got 2 inched of rain over the weekend which we needed sooo badly!!! My DH is back from his weekend fishing tournament (he didn't win but had a great time) so all is well on the home front!!

Now, I don't want any of you to fall out (that's Texas talk for fainting) but I actually made 3...count them...3 CAS (Clean and Simple) cards this morning for the CAS15 challenge on Splitcoast!!!! I can't believe I actually made CAS cards and held off on the embellies and layers....Yikes!!! My DD Holly and my friend Jules will be sooo proud of me!!! The challenge was to use white, black and one other color from Stampin Up's Bold Brights group. I chose Green Galore, Brilliant Blue, and Only Orange. The green and orange cards have images from Rubbernecker's Party Time set and the blue one had Rubbernecker Shoe images and sentiment. I used different colored gingham dp from The Paper Studio, ribbons, Nestabilities to cutout the main images, and the Stampin Up Scalloped Border punch for the botton edges.

I made this card last weekend while my DH was away. I just had to use my Wisteria dp I got from Clear Dollar Stamps...it's soo gorgeous!!! The images from Rubbernecker's Party Time set were stamped with Elegant Eggplant onto the light dp and then stamped again on scraps of the Wisteria paper. The square presents were attached with tape and the front present was popped up with dimensionals. The frame is just toooo cool..it's a resin that looks like stone...I colored it with a Lavender Lace marker and attached with glue dots. The ribbon is a scrap...I just love the texture!!

The bow on the green present was paper pieced with another piece of Wisteria.

The sentiment from the same set was stamped with Elegant Eggplant onto the dp and attached to the back of the frame before the frame was attached. I don't think I'll be mailing this one....I know someome who I can hand deliver this one to!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Party Time
Paper: Whisteria dp by Basic Grey, Creamy Caramel
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace
Accessories: Rhinestones, Ribbon, Resin Frame, Dimensionals, Nestabilities

This was a fun card to make....I wanted to do something a little grungy because I just received the Tim Holts Keyhole and wanted to use it with the K&Co. metal frame. I didn't have a bronze colored clip so I colored a silver one with a copic marker. Junkitz Summer Collection dp called Cousins was run through the cuttlebug, sanded, and sponged with Ranger Distress inks. The Rubbernecker Wildflower Silhouettes were stamped on the next layer by coloring the stamp with a marker. The RN French Script background was stamped over the flowers and then the edges were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and the Ink Blending tool.

The sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of dp and attached to the back of the frame with glue dots. It was then attached to the card with redline tape. May Arts Ribbon and trim finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Party Time, French Script background, and Wildflower Silhouettes
Paper: Prism White, Sunflowers Medium, Suede Brown Dark, Junkitz dp
Ink: Ranger Distress inks Vintage Photo, Fried Brick, and Mustard Seed, Chocolate Chip, Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Summer Sun, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Tim Holtz Keyholes, K&Co. Metal Frame, Clip, May Arts Ribbon and Trim, Cuttlebug

Thanks for visiting today...hope you have a great day!!!

Stamp Camp Goodies, Inspiration Challenge Card, and Decorated Tin

Hello everyone....hope you are enjoying your weekend!! My DH went to Lake Fork in East Texas for a Bass Fishing Tournament yesterday so I am home alone...just me and my stamps!! Whoohoo!!!
I went to my DD Holly's stamp camp this morning and we did some awesome projects!! I love the top note candy wrapper...can't believe I haven't ripped it open to get at those chocolates!!! The red flower with ribbon is a book mark....too cool and I love the cards we made...thanks, Holly, for a fun morning!!

After I got home I went to work on my card for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast...my friend Anne Harada was the hostess and she picked an awesome room from the Country Living Website as the inspiration.

I started with dp from CherryArte...layered it with White and Purely Pomegranate and used the Stampin Up! scalloped punch on the botton edges. The Stampin Up!chipboard branch was colored with a Chocolate Chip marker and attached with glue dots. The SU bird die was used to create the birds...I ran it through the Cuttlebug with Purely Pomegranate cs and the sentiment was from Clear Dollar Stamps Biggest Wishes set. Purely Pomegranate ribbon and tiny rhinestones from Taylored Expressions finished it off.

I just love these little birds...the wings are cut separately and attached with a glue dot. Ya know, when Purely Pomegranate first came out I wasn't too impressed but now that it's retired, I can't seem to live without it!!!

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Biggest Wishes
Paper: Chocolate Chip, White, Purely Ponegranate, CherryArte dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Chipboard, Ribbon, Rhinestones, Bird Die, SU Scallop Punch, Nestabilities

This is the tin I decorated for Thursday's Ways to Use it Challenge on Splitcoast. I used images from Clear Dollar Stamps Bold Bouquet set, stamped the flowers, cut them out, and attached them to the paper band with glue dots. The leaves were punched from scrap dp and the candy was wrapped with SU dp. The sentiment from CDS's Biggest Wishes set was stamped with Elegant Eggplant and cutout with the Blossom Nestabilities.
A button with twine bow and blue Candy Dots finish it off. This will go to my DGD Autumn for one of her birthday gifts...she will be 11 at the end of the month.

Paper: White, Elegant Eggplant, SU dp
Ink: Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant, Bashful Blue, Creamy Caramel

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!! I hope you had a wonderful day!!! Mom and I went to church this morning and then we went to my DD Holly's this afternoon for cake and ice cream....Holly and John live on 10 acres so there was plenty of room for all the little Grandkiddos to run and play. Now the rest of my evening will be spent stamping...Whoohoo!!!

The Featured Stamper challenge on SCS today honored Debbie (DbDoodle)....check out her fabulous gallery!!!!! The card I chose to case was called Tadah........I kept the same basic layout, basket main image, and colors. I changed the round main image to an oval, the stamps, background paper, and used pearls instead of brads.

The Rubbernecker Floral Basket with Bow image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The images were cutout with Nestabilities and the scallops were made with the Stampin Up! scallop punch.

I used Prism Simply Smooth White and Suede Brown Dark from Rubbernecker and Stampin Up dp.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful evening!!!

An Ode to American Wetlands Month and Two Catch Up Challenge Cards.

Good morning everyone!!! It's Friday and that means the weekend is just a few hours away!!! I'm going to my DD's stamp camp tomorrow morning and then to Jonestown to see my DS and his family. Today I'm going to finish planting my flower beds...hopefully I'll get that finished before it gets too hot!! It won't be long before we start the 100 degree Texas Summer weather...yikes!!! I need a Summer home in Canada!!! Anyway....
I finished my Limited Supply Challenge card late last night but was too tired to upload at midnight. The challenge was to make a project that reflects and represents any May celebration or holiday. I googled May Holidays and found a long list....I decided to pick American Wetlands Month

I used the swan image from the new Clear Dollar Stamps Nestled Love set...stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. The top wing was stamped twice and one was cutout and popped up over the image. The Basic Grey Wisteria paper was cutout around the beautiful wisteria plants and attached over the background with dimensionals...I tried to achieve a wetlands kinda look. The cardstock is from Prism and ribbon and pearls finish it off.

Wacky Wednesday

Good morning everyone...it's Wednesday and you know what that means...it's time for another Rubbernecker Wacky Wednesday!!! The hostess this week is Shelly and her challenge is for us to use our favorite technique. It sounds pretty simple and straight forward but I have a real problem with this challnege...I have sooo many favorite techniques!!! I finally narrowed it down to coloring, masking, and paper tole. Sorry, Shelly, I couldn't use just one!!!

The winner of this week’s challenge will receive a Discount Coupon good for 40% off their entire Rubbernecker order. They will also get to take advantage of all other specials and discounts on the Rubbernecker Stamps home page

I used several stamps on this...four bird stamps, a tree stamp, birdhouse, and sentiment....all from Rubbernecker Stamps.

The images were all stamped on Simply Smooth White cardstock by Prism and colored with copics. I then stamped all the images on Eclipse masking tape, cut out the images, covered the images that I just colored, and sponged on the clouds. You can find Cindy Motherway's cloud tutorial here.

Each of the birds and the birdhouse were stamped two more times on scrap pieces of white, colored with copics, cutout, and attached over the colored images on the cardstock with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals.

The background cardstock colors are Prism Suede Brown Dark and SU Mellow Moss.

Please visit the other Rubbernecker Red-Hot Mommas blogs to check out their favorite techniques and for lots of inspiration!!!

Double Your Pleasure!!

Happy Saturday everyone!!! I have had such a wonderful morning....my DH fixed breakfast and ran the sweeper so I could get my Inspiration Challenge card finished and my DD Holly and her DH John brought over an early birthday present...a wire rack to hold 12x12 papers....WHOOHOO !!! Can't get much better than that!!! Anyway.....

The inspiration for the IC challenge today comes from the famous prom dresses by Faviana. This is the one I took my inspiration from. I love the yellows, reds, and browns in the dress...sooo rich looking!!

This is also for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simple challenge to *Let the sun shine in* and use yellow in our design. I was the hostess for the Double Dog Dare challenge this week and my dare was to make a Mother's Day card with clothing in the design. I hope I got all the challenge criteria straignt!!

The Rubbernecker images from the Fashion Icon set #456 were all stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on Prism papers. The background designer paper and the gloves are from the Linnie Bell Collection by Pebbles. The sentiment is also from Rubbernecker and the ribbon is by May Arts. Don't look to close at the sewing....I need a lot more practice sewing a straight line!!! The yellow background layer and the hat were run through the cuttlebug with the Swiss Dot folder for a little texture.

This Mother's Day card is for my DIL Christina who loves shoes and purses!!

Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Prism Birchtone Dark, Prism Sunflowers Medium, Prism Rose Medium, White, Pebbles dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Brick Red Distress ink, Vintage Photo Distress ink
Accessories: Ribbon, Sewing Machine, Nestabilities, Dimensionals, Cuttlebug

This is the card I made for Thursday's Ways to Use it Challenge on SCS to use black on a card.
I use some gorgeous paper by 7 Gypsies called Gypsy Market from Rubbernecker and the Inkadinkado bird in a nest stamp from Stamper's Dream. The image was stamped on More Mustard with Archival Jet Black, embossed with clear ep, and sponged with Vintage Photo Distress ink. The image was cutout with two of the Label 4 Nesties to create a frame effect. A black matt was cutout by hand around the outside and the inner section was popped up on dimensionals. I used sheer black ribbon and some self-adhesive crystal flourishes for the embellies.

The close up shows the crystal flourishes and
a better look at the sponging.....making the background a little darker helps to pop the bird.

Stamps: Inkadinkado
