Only Summer Kisses

Good morning everyone!!! What a wonderful day....the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I'm stampin away ...can't get any better than this!!! I am out of M&M's so that did put a little kink in the creative process but I will fix that problem real soon!!! Anyway...

The color challenge on Splitcoast this morning was to use Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss, and Only Orange. What happy, bright colors...perfect to get your day started right!!! I bought these adorable Elzybell stamps last year and thought they would be perfect for the challenge colors. The little images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The papers are from Making Memories Just Chillin paper pad and Candy Dots, ribbons, and a flower finish them off. Pretty simple but fun!!!

I wanted to share this picture I took at our Mother's Day celebration last Sunday at mu DD Holly's...6 of my 11 Grandbabies were there!!! They are sooo dear and my heart just swells with love when I'm lucky enough to be with them!!!
Have a GREAT day and I hope you get to do a little stamping, too!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!! I hope you had a wonderful day!!! Mom and I went to church this morning and then we went to my DD Holly's this afternoon for cake and ice cream....Holly and John live on 10 acres so there was plenty of room for all the little Grandkiddos to run and play. Now the rest of my evening will be spent stamping...Whoohoo!!!

The Featured Stamper challenge on SCS today honored Debbie (DbDoodle)....check out her fabulous gallery!!!!! The card I chose to case was called Tadah........I kept the same basic layout, basket main image, and colors. I changed the round main image to an oval, the stamps, background paper, and used pearls instead of brads.

The Rubbernecker Floral Basket with Bow image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The images were cutout with Nestabilities and the scallops were made with the Stampin Up! scallop punch.

I used Prism Simply Smooth White and Suede Brown Dark from Rubbernecker and Stampin Up dp.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful evening!!!

An Ode to American Wetlands Month and Two Catch Up Challenge Cards.

Good morning everyone!!! It's Friday and that means the weekend is just a few hours away!!! I'm going to my DD's stamp camp tomorrow morning and then to Jonestown to see my DS and his family. Today I'm going to finish planting my flower beds...hopefully I'll get that finished before it gets too hot!! It won't be long before we start the 100 degree Texas Summer weather...yikes!!! I need a Summer home in Canada!!! Anyway....
I finished my Limited Supply Challenge card late last night but was too tired to upload at midnight. The challenge was to make a project that reflects and represents any May celebration or holiday. I googled May Holidays and found a long list....I decided to pick American Wetlands Month

I used the swan image from the new Clear Dollar Stamps Nestled Love set...stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. The top wing was stamped twice and one was cutout and popped up over the image. The Basic Grey Wisteria paper was cutout around the beautiful wisteria plants and attached over the background with dimensionals...I tried to achieve a wetlands kinda look. The cardstock is from Prism and ribbon and pearls finish it off.

Color Challenge
The Color Challenge colors this week on Splitcoast were Cameo Coral, Ballet Blue, and Garden Green.

This is the Mother's Day card I made for my DIL Laura. I just have 2 more Mother's Day cards to go!!! I wasn't to sure about the colors but as I started working with them they really grew on me!!! I used the Bold Bouquet set from Clear Dollar Stamps and added the sparkle to the flower centers. This is also for the CCEE challenge to make a Mother's Day Card, for the OCC challenge to make a Mother's Day card, and for the Double Dog Dare challenge hosted by Joanne (sleepyinseattle). Her challenge this week is to make a Mother's Day card with flowers and a little sparkle. Be sure to add DDC to the keywords line of your upload so we can see all your cards!!!

The flowers were all stamped, cutout, and attached with dimensionals. The sentiment was hand written, and three Martha Stewart Punches were used for the leaves, butterflies, and picket fence.

Wacky Wednesday

Good morning everyone...it's Wednesday and you know what that means...it's time for another Rubbernecker Wacky Wednesday!!! The hostess this week is Shelly and her challenge is for us to use our favorite technique. It sounds pretty simple and straight forward but I have a real problem with this challnege...I have sooo many favorite techniques!!! I finally narrowed it down to coloring, masking, and paper tole. Sorry, Shelly, I couldn't use just one!!!

The winner of this week’s challenge will receive a Discount Coupon good for 40% off their entire Rubbernecker order. They will also get to take advantage of all other specials and discounts on the Rubbernecker Stamps home page

I used several stamps on this...four bird stamps, a tree stamp, birdhouse, and sentiment....all from Rubbernecker Stamps.

The images were all stamped on Simply Smooth White cardstock by Prism and colored with copics. I then stamped all the images on Eclipse masking tape, cut out the images, covered the images that I just colored, and sponged on the clouds. You can find Cindy Motherway's cloud tutorial here.

Each of the birds and the birdhouse were stamped two more times on scrap pieces of white, colored with copics, cutout, and attached over the colored images on the cardstock with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals.

The background cardstock colors are Prism Suede Brown Dark and SU Mellow Moss.

Please visit the other Rubbernecker Red-Hot Mommas blogs to check out their favorite techniques and for lots of inspiration!!!

Mother's Day Card for my Mom

Hello everyone. My DIL is out of the hospital, the Grandkids are back home, and now my house is just tooo quiet......so I cranked up the radio and stamped all day....Whoohoo!!!

I'd like to share the Mother's Day card I made today for my Mom. This is the first time I used my Tombow markers to watercolor and I just LOVE them!!! The colors are gorgeous and they blend beautifully!!! The image was sent to me my Michelle Rodgers from Stamper's Dream....thanks you sweet thang!!!

The background paper is from Doodlebug and the lavender cardstock which was run through the Cuttlebug with the Dotted Swiss folder is Prism's Intense Amethyst. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up! set called Fancy Flexible Phrases and shear black ribbon, punched flourish, and black pearls finish it off.
Thanks for visiting tonight and now I gotta get back to Dancing with the Stars!!!

Double Your Pleasure!!

Happy Saturday everyone!!! I have had such a wonderful morning....my DH fixed breakfast and ran the sweeper so I could get my Inspiration Challenge card finished and my DD Holly and her DH John brought over an early birthday present...a wire rack to hold 12x12 papers....WHOOHOO !!! Can't get much better than that!!! Anyway.....

The inspiration for the IC challenge today comes from the famous prom dresses by Faviana. This is the one I took my inspiration from. I love the yellows, reds, and browns in the dress...sooo rich looking!!

This is also for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simple challenge to *Let the sun shine in* and use yellow in our design. I was the hostess for the Double Dog Dare challenge this week and my dare was to make a Mother's Day card with clothing in the design. I hope I got all the challenge criteria straignt!!

The Rubbernecker images from the Fashion Icon set #456 were all stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on Prism papers. The background designer paper and the gloves are from the Linnie Bell Collection by Pebbles. The sentiment is also from Rubbernecker and the ribbon is by May Arts. Don't look to close at the sewing....I need a lot more practice sewing a straight line!!! The yellow background layer and the hat were run through the cuttlebug with the Swiss Dot folder for a little texture.

This Mother's Day card is for my DIL Christina who loves shoes and purses!!

Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Prism Birchtone Dark, Prism Sunflowers Medium, Prism Rose Medium, White, Pebbles dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Brick Red Distress ink, Vintage Photo Distress ink
Accessories: Ribbon, Sewing Machine, Nestabilities, Dimensionals, Cuttlebug

This is the card I made for Thursday's Ways to Use it Challenge on SCS to use black on a card.
I use some gorgeous paper by 7 Gypsies called Gypsy Market from Rubbernecker and the Inkadinkado bird in a nest stamp from Stamper's Dream. The image was stamped on More Mustard with Archival Jet Black, embossed with clear ep, and sponged with Vintage Photo Distress ink. The image was cutout with two of the Label 4 Nesties to create a frame effect. A black matt was cutout by hand around the outside and the inner section was popped up on dimensionals. I used sheer black ribbon and some self-adhesive crystal flourishes for the embellies.

The close up shows the crystal flourishes and
a better look at the sponging.....making the background a little darker helps to pop the bird.
Recipe:
Stamps: Inkadinkado
Paper: More Mustard, Riding Hood Red, Black, 7 Gypsies
Ink: Archival Jet Black, Vintage Photo
Accessories: Crystal Flourishes, Ribbon, Nestabilities, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!! If you would like to play along with the Double Dare challenge, be sure to add DDC to the keywords section so we can find your card!! You can see all the DDC cards here.

Wacky Wednesday and The Creative Belli Challenge

It's Wednesday and time for another Rubbernecker Wacky Wednesday!!

Bev is the hostess with the mostess today and her challenge is to *heat it up*. We are to use the heat gun to emboss, curl a ribbon, or what ever comes to mind. I embossed the silhouette image from Rubbernecker's new Fashion Icons #455 onto the Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste dp and cut it out with the Labels 4 Nestie along with the black matting.

Images from the same set were stamped on the background Fleuristes paper with Memento Rich Cocoa and the edges were sponged with Ranger Distress Peeled Paint ink so it would match the beautiful May Arts ribbon. The sentiment, also from the same set, was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto a scrap piece of light dp, cutout with the Label 4 Nestie, and the edges were sponged with Peeled Paint, Fried Brick , and Vintage Photo Ranger Distress inks.

The Grungeboard flourishes were sponges with Fried Brick and Vintage Photo Distress inks and attached with glue dots. Three pearls were the final detail.

Now it's your turn...drag out those heat guns, create something fabulous, go to the Rubbernecker blog, and leave your name with Mr. Linky with a link to your creation.

Please visit the other Rubbernecker Red Hot Mommas blogs for lots of creative inspiration and to see their take on Bev's challenge.

Creative Belli Challenge

This week, Chrissy's Creative Belli Challenge is to use jumbo eyelets or jumbo brads on your project.
I used another Rubbernecker stamp set for today's Belli card. The rose from the Wildflowers set #465 was paper pieced with scrap pieced of designer paper and the sentiment was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa. They were cutout with Nesties and attached to layers of scrap dp with dimensionals. The big brad I decided to use was placed in the center of some layered primas and ribbon, pearls, and a scalloped border finish it off.

Be sure to visit the Creative Belli Design Team Member's blogs to read more details about their designs. You will find lots of awesome ideas!!! If you upload a card to Splitcoast or PCP, be sure to add CBC64 in the keywords section.

Unfrogettable

Hello everyone!!! I hope you are all having a great day!!! We are getting more much needed rain today....maybe some of the cracks in my yard will close for a few days anyway!!!

The Color Challenge colors today on Splitcoast are Real Red, Old Olive and black. You will have to forgive this old Grandma today...I kinda stretched the Old Olive a bit!! I wanted to use this adorable Pond Pals set by Clear Dollar Stamps to make a card for my 6 year old DGS who needs a little cheering up. The greens aren't quite Old Olive but they are close!! This is also for Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday challenge to use a frog on the card. Since I used 6, I wonder if I get extra points!!!

The images were all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The CDS's Picket Fence was stamped on a piece of weathered wood designer paper and the background was also a scrap of dp. It looks like I took the frogs out of the pond and into the tropics....snort!! The googlie eyes bring the frogs to life and a clip with ribbons finish it off.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you get a little stamping done today!!!

Happy Monday!!!

Hello everyone!! I hope you are having a great Monday!!! It's going to be another wild week around here...my DIL is back in the hospital so we will have kids again. I'm kinda getting used to having 3 kids around the house...it's too quiet around here when they are gone!!!

I had such fun with the Technique Lover's challenge on SCS today....played with marbles and Reinkers!!!

Rubbernecker's Fashion Icons 456 images were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto a scrap piece of off white dp. The edges of the silhouette were sponged, distressed, and sewn. The sentiment was cutout with Nesties. Lace, Primas, a brad, pearls, ribbon, and clip finish it off.

The close up shows the adorable silhouette image and my crazy sewing....since I can't sew a straignt line I really made it look free flowing!!!

Stamps: Rubbernecker Fashion Icon 456
Paper: Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Graphic 45
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Cranberry Crisp, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa, Lovely Lilac, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Primas, Pearls, Brad, Lace, Clip, Ribbon, Dimensionals

Sunday's Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast featured Kathy Jones (Wattle). What a wonderful gallery full of such beautiful designs!!! When I saw this card called Thankful Blooms with the gorgeous colors, I knew this was the one I wanted to case. I kept the colors and the round main image. I changed the image, layout, and embellies.

This is also for the Double Dare Challenge hosted by Julia (artystamper) to use this adorable digital image which is free on the Two Scoops Rice Designs Blog. Be sure to add DDC to the keywords section when you upload so we can find your card.

This also qualifies for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply challenge to use piping (a narrow strip of paper to separate 2 other pieces of paper). I also made this for the OCC challenge hosted by Silke to use you favorite color combo on a card.

The digital image was colored with copics and the paper, Penny Lane by My Minds Eye, was used for the background layers. PTI Ribbon, pearls, and the flowers finish it off.

Whew!!! A 4 challenge card before I had any chocolate was quite an accomplishment for this old lady!!!!

Stamps: See D's sentiment
Paper: White, My Minds Eye
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black for sentiment
Accessories: Pearls, Punches, Nestabilities, Prima, Crocheted Flower, PTI Ribbon

Thanks for visiting today....hope your Monday is super special!!!

Saturday Catch Up Day

Good morning everyone!!! Whew...I have had a hectic week with 3 Grandkids, soccer games, a school program, homework, cooking, and washing lots of clothes and towels...yikes!!! Did I really do that everyday for over 20 years??? The little darlings are at home this weekend, my DH went on a weekend fishing trip, and it's just me and my stamps...whoohoo!!!

The Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast was to take inspiration from Kleenex boxes... I had never noticed what great designs they have on those boxes!! When I saw the box with the tropical fish, I knew I wanted to use the Rubbernecker Stained Glass Tropic Fish stamp.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and I attempted to color it with copics. After I goofed up a few of the sections, the glitter came out...what a mess I created but I love how it came out!!! I think I'll frame this and give to one of my DGS's.
I used my piercing tool to clean the areas around each block of color before the glue dried so I could achieve a clean black border.

I am so glad the camera picked up all the sparkle!!!

Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Black, White, Only Orange, Prism Nautical Blue Medium
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Glitter and lots of it!!!

Friday's Limited Supply challenge on Splitcoast was to use colors from one of the rooms in our home. My kitchen is painted brick red with gold and green accents. This green doesn't really match my green but it's close and besides, I wanted to use this piece of designer paper. I love the scene with the rolling hills and the flowers are the perfect color!! The Clear Dollar Stamps Charliene April Showers image was stamped twice, once on the background and once on white cardstock. She was colored with copics, cutout, and attached with dimensionals. The boots and ducks were paper pieced and the umbrella was pieced 3 times and attached with dimensionals for a little dimension.

The Clear Dollar Stamps Picket Fence was stamped on a scrap piece of dp that looked like weathered wood. Ribbon and paper cut grass finish it off.

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Sandy Lion dp, White, Garden Green
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Punch, Copics, Ribbon

This is for Wednesday's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. I used Clear Dollar Stamps Sunflower Songs ...colored the sunflowers and leaves with copics and attached with dimensionals. Highlights were added to the large sunflowers with a white gel pen. The background layers were cutout with Nesties, the sentiment from the same set was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, and ribbon and Candy Dots finish it off.

I just love these sunflowers...so fun to color and they look good anytime of the year!!!

Thanks for visiting today....now I'm off to clean the glitter off my craft room floor!! I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Sunflower Songs
Paper: Prism, Chocolate Chip, Daisy D's dp, SandyLion dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, More Mustard, Old Olive

Rubbernecker Kittie Kits Release and Blog Stroll

Good morning and welcome to the Rubbernecker release party and blog stroll for two new Kittie Kits!!! Whoohoo!!!!!

To celebrate this release, we invite you to blog stroll along with the Rubbernecker Red-Hot Mommas. The stroll begins at the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog where you will find all the details on how to win one of the sets being revealed or even possibly the GRAND PRIZE.

In order to win one of the new Kittie Kits sets revealed today, you must leave a comment here on my blog. A random number will be drawn on Friday, 12:00 Noon.

Here is my phrase clue for the GRAND PRIZE: WITH. To find the next clue, stroll over to Juliana's Blog.

I decided to make a card today with the cabin from Kitties new set called Kittie Kit Cause a Scene Farm Life #8 and the trees, grass, and stones from Kittie Kits The Moose is Loose#2 set.

The cabin, trees, rocks, and grass were stamped on the Prism Simply Smooth White cardstock with Archival Jet Black and embossed with clear ep.

Before sponging on the background colors, a circle was punched out of a piece of Eclipse Tape and attached over the area for the moon. The background was then sponged on using the Ink Blending tool and Faded Jeans, Broken China, and Dusty Concord Ranger Distress Inks. You can find the tutorial for this technique here. After blending the background, a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water was misted over the whole design and dried with a heat tool. After removing the Eclipse Tape, the Stamp Oasis sentiment was stamped with Archival Jet Black and embossed with clear ep.

The Perfect Pearls gave the background a pearly iridescent look.

I hope you can see the sentiment...it says "Sing in the rain, Dance in the sun, Dream by the light of the moon".

The finished design was matted on Black and the base cardstock was Frosted Amethyst Prism papers.
A frayed piece of May Arts Ribbon and a button with purple twine finished it off.

Thank for taking the stroll with me today and good luck with the drawing...I hope you win!!!!

Happy Monday!!

Hello everyone!! I hope you had a wonderful Monday!!! I was busy washing clothes and cleaning....I did find a little time to make a card for last weeks Double Dog Dare challenge I do with several SCS friends. Anne (jdmommy) was the hostess and she challenged us to make a card with red, white, and black. Now I'm all caught up, just in time for a new challenge tomorrow!! Please join us in the challenge....be sure to add DDC to the keywords section when you upload to Splitcoast so we can find you cards. You can see all the DDC cards here.

This is also for the StampinB's second challenge to use diecuts. You will have to check out their new blog....lots of talent there!!!

The Inkadinkado Rose image was stamped with Archival Jet Black and embossed with clear ep. It was then colored with Twinkling H20's, dusted with Dazzling Diamonds, cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals. I cut the black circular rhinestones in half and attached them to the side of the image.

The background paper is called Daisy Chain by Imaginisce and the luscious May Arts red ribbon is from Rubbernecker Stamps.

I made this for my DD Holly and her DH John.....they lost their 12 year old fur baby, Queenie, last week. She was such a sweet friend and will be missed!!

Thanks for visiting today...Whew...I finished this in time to watch Dancing With the Stars....life is goooood!!!
