Ways to Use It Challenge, Featured Stamper Challenge, Sketch Challenge and Stamp TV's Color Challenge

Hello, everyone.....hope you are having a great Thursday afternoon!! I am really excited because we are going to my DGS's first baseball game tonight!! He is all pumped up and of course, the whole family will be there to cheer him on!! I'll take some pictures to show you tomorrow. Anyway...on with the show!!
The Ways to Use it Challenge on Splitcoast was to use chipboard. I have had some chipboard buttons for over a year and finally got to use them today!! This is also for Sunday's Featured Stamper Challenge to honor Gloria (GloriousGreetings). She is such a sweetheart and if you have not been to her gallery, check it out...it's FABULOUS!!! I decided to case Gloria's CC221 OCCC Home is Wherever You Perch card....I used the same Clear Dollar Stamps called Pretty Perches and the same colors but changed the green dp, added the gingham ribbon, and added the chipboard butterfly for the challenge today.

The birdcage image was stamped on a scratch piece of white cs and then cutout and popped up on the cardstock stamped with the sentiment. Clouds were sponged on with Bashful Blue and the branch with leaves from the same set were stamped above the birdcage. The bow was attached with glue dots and raffia was tied in the butterfly chipboard button.

I made this card yesterday for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast and for the color challenge on Stamp TV to use the colors on Tina's card...they came from the Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl paper pad. The images from Gina K's Spring Florals set were colored with copics and the flowers were cut out from one of the Material Girl papers. The butterflies with tiny pearls finish it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #90

Good morning everyone and welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!!! The challenge this 2 weeks is a birthday theme and we are excited to have Creative Cuts and More as our sponsor!!! My first card uses all products from the Birthday Girl Kit...cardstock, diecuts hat, stickers, rubons, brads, and paper.

This is an A2 Twist Card from the Birthday Girl Card Kit. I added the stamped image from Woodware USA Stamps called Winding Path. It was colored with copics and popped up on foam tape. The piece of white cardstock the image was stamped on and the ribbon were not included in the kit. I colored the edges of the back side of a piece of designer paper from the kit with a copic to create the orange layer.

This is the back side....The birds are from the Woodware set I used on the front. The sentiment is a rubon from the kit as are the papers and sticker trim. The white paper is the backside of one of the designer papers in the kit.

Rubbernecker April Release Blog Hop!!

Hello everyone and welcome to the second Rubbernecker Blog Hop this month!!! You may be wonderding why we are having another hop so soon....Dave has released two new collections...Whoohoo!!! We are celebrating the release of all the new stamps: Florals, Weeds, Fashion Ladies, Vines, the Damask Background stamp, and the brand new Vintage and African American Figures!!! We are really excited about these new stamps...something for everyone's taste and style!!!

I am sooo in love with this vintage children image called Sisters 001....their faces are sooo precious!!! The image was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto Blush Blossom cardstock...the edges were distressed and then layered over a Spellbinders diecut frame shape, lace, and the beautiful Making Memories dp. Sheer ribbon, buttons with floss centers, and the Prima pearl flourish finish it off.

This fun stamp is called At the Shore....it was stamped with Basic Grey onto the Prism Nautical Blue Light cardstock. The dp is from Design Originals and the sticker letters are from Cosmo Cricket. The shell was cut out of the designer paper and attached with glue dots. The big eyelets, ribbon, and the big sparkly F finish it off.

These images lend themselves so well to masculine cards....the old Model T and Skyline images were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto the orange Lime Rickey paper. The edges were distressed and then matted onto the black cardstock. I have been on a real kick lately of tilting my images....I think it added a little more interest!!! The sentiment is also from Rubbernecker. The Lime Rickey paper in the background, the button with the ribbon, and the striped ribbon are the finishing touches.

Bicycle, Geisha, and a Fashion Lady

This is the card I made Saturday for the Inspiration challenge on Splitcoast. Stef chose an awesome store called Green Rainbow and I chose the fun bicycle belt buckle as my inspiration.. Since I was really behind on my challenges, I combined this with the QFTD06 challenge to honor Cathleen (ctorina) as Queen for the day. Every single card in her gallery is sooo fabulous and elegant....WOW!!! I decided to case her IC222 Thank You card because it's sooo gorgeous!!! I kept the same basic layout and one of the colors but changed the stamps, papers, and moved the image layers up a little because my Nesties layers were just a little bigger. This is also for da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday Challenge ...all the teapotters went to the Kentucky Derby!!! I am sooo late because my car broke down so I borrowed the bike and I'm only 10 miles away...I'm coming Mudder!!!!! Save me some goodies...think I'll need something just a little stronger than tea when I get there!!!!

The F4A9 Challenge on Splitcoast was to take a virtual vacation. I went to Japan several years ago and really want to go again. I colored the Rubbernecker Geisha image with Tombow markers, cut it out and attached it with dimensionals. Scallops, silk ribbon, flowers, and black half pearls finish it off.

The Ways to Use it Challenge Thursday on Splitcoast was to mix up patterns....use some fun prints! I used three different papers from Basic Grey's Kioshi collection. The dress and hat on the Rubbernecker Fashion Lady were paper pieced and some of the shaded areas on the dress and hat were colored with copics and well as the skin and shoes. The solid piece at the bottom was run through the cuttlebug with a diamond patterned folder and the pearls, lace, twill, button and ribbon finish it off.

A Spellbinders die was used for the scalloped border and the Cotton Candy ribbon and lavender pearls added to the flower centers on the Basic Grey Kioshi paper finish it off.

Paper Pieced Fairy Tot

Hello everyone....what a beautiful day we are having here in Central Texas!!! I didn't do any planting this morning but I did clean my dirty house!! I swear, doing housework is harder and more labor intensive that anything!!! Actually, the reason I cleaned is because we are going to have company over night...otherwise the dirt coulda waited another week or so...LOL!!! Anyway.... I made this card for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast today.
The adorable Woodware images from the Fairy Tots set were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, colored with copics, cutout, and attached to the background dp . Paper Piecing was added to the little boy fairy using Cosmo Cricket's Earth Love dp. The sentiment is from Woodware's Salutations set. An EK Success border punch was used for the scallop, glitter was added to the wings, and lace and a button with twine finish it off.

Shabby Chic Baby Album

Good morning everyone....hope all is well in your little corner of the world!!! I have been working so much in my yard that I have been tooo pooped to stamp!! My DH helped me clean out the rock garden this morning and we planted some moss roses. Gotta go buy more plants tomorrow.....I may have to go back to work if I don't quit buying plants!!! Anyway....

While watching Dancing With the Stars tonight I finally finished the shabby chic album I started at CHA in January....it was a make and take but I can't remember the booth. The album base which measured 12 inches by 6 1/2 inches was cardboard that was stripped of the top layer to expose the corrugated under layer....it was sprayed with several different colors of glimmer mist and some metalic spray to give it a little shimmer. The Crafty Secrets Baby Memories Vintage Cuts image was distressed around the edges and attached over the frame with glue dots. The chipboard frame was colored with Ranger Distress Crackle Paint...... Frayed Burlap was the only color I had and it really matched the paper perfectly...Woot!!!

I added flowers, buttons, twine, lace, a blingy flourish, a grungeboard flourish colored with a copic, Tattered Angel Glimmer Chips (the birds), and ribbons. I just love it when I can use up scraps and stuff that has been lying around for ages!!

The edges of the background paper were distressed, also, and the lace was scrunched up using glue.

I used the other images from the Vintage Baby Cuts on the inside papers. Now I just have to wait till someone I know has a baby!!! I may have to wait for a great grandchild....that could be a few years away, I hope!!!!!

Friday Morning Catch-Up!!

Good morning everyone....it seems that Spring has sprung here in Central Texas...this old girl has been outside digging in the dirt most of the week!!! I spent all the grocery money on plants so it's peanut butter sandwichs and Mac and cheese for the next week...LOL!!!

I made this card yesterday for the sketch challenge on Splitcoast. I also made this for Anne Ryan's Queen For the Day challenge to Honor Linda (Snail)...Congrats, Linda!!!!! I chose to case her Many Thanks card. I kept the same colors and silhouette/butterfly theme but changed the sketch and stamps to Rubbernecker's Weeds images and Rubbernecker's Butterfly Inchies. The images were all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and the butterflies were colored with copics. The papers are from Basic Grey's Origins and the ribbon finishes it off.

I made this card Tuesday for the color challenge on Splitcoast. The colors were Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom, and Ruby Red. The dessert option was Creamy caramel or Close to Cocoa. This is also for Sunday's Featured Stamper Challenge, the AWESOME Pat Smethers!! I cased her Virginia's Garden card....kept the same layout and theme but changed the colors, flowers, added buttons, used wood flourishes instead of die cuts, and changed the stamps to Rubbernecker's Weed image, Floral image, and sentiment. I also added a scalloped border along the side. I hope you are enjoying your week in the spotlight, gf...you are sooo deserving!!!

The Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast last Saturday was to make a card to honor our home state. I just had to make a card with our beautiful Texas Bluebonnets!! They are blooming in abundance everywhere now....the countryside looks gorgeous!! I used one of Rubbernecker's new release Weed images...the stamp was colored with markers, stamped on the white cs, and then a white gel pen was used to add the white highlights. The prima, button, and twine finish it off.

Rubbernecker Fashion, Florals, and Weeds Blog Hop!!!

I used Floral #496-03 on my first card...the image was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear ep. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker's Floral Silhouettes set #467.

The Floral image #496-11 was colored with several different inks using the edge of the ink pad to create the plaid look. I first pounced the edge of the ink pads in one direction and then turned the stamp and worked from the other side....hint: don't completely cover the image with any one color so you don't muddy the colors together. The background was sponged using Pink Pirouette and the buttons, ribbon, and ball fringe finish it off.

Gina K's April Illustrator's Challenge

Hello everyone...hope all is well with you on this beautiful, sunny, Saturday afternoon!!! The April Illustrator's Blog Hop Challenge on Gina K's blog is to be inspired by our favorite children's book. Cinderella, by far, is my favorite!! I just love a happy ending!!! I read Cinderella to my daughter and to all my granddaughters....the story is so sweet and gives all little girls hope of a prince charming coming into their lives!! I used Melanie Muenchinger's A Beautiful Life frame image...stamped it onto Webster's Pages dp with Memento Rich Cocoa. The tulip images were stamped three times onto white cs and colored with copics. They were then cutout and layered with dimensionals. The sentiment from the same set was stamped on a scrap piece of the same dp, cutout with a Nesties die and sponged around the edges with Rich Cocoa.

The butterfly, also from the same set, was colored with copics, cutout, and attached with a glue dot. Pearls and distressing finish it off for a Shabby Chic look.

Clearly Inspired Challenge #11

The flowers are from Clear Dollar Stamps Bold Bouquet set...three flowers were stamped with Summer Sun ink on white cs and three were stamped with Real Red ink onto the Cherry Go Round cardstock. They were all cutout and layered with dimensionals. The bee from Clear Dollar Stamps Circle Chit Chat was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto Bee Pollen cardstock and embossed with clear ep. The wings were paper pieced and the body was punched out and attached with a dimensional. The sentiment is from CDS's Birthday Celebration set. The leaves were punched out of the Lime Juice cardstock with a Martha Stewart Leaf Punch and the background layers were cutout with large scalloped Nestibilities. Bee Pollen ribbon, button with gingham ribbon and the yellow brad finish it off.
